For those keen to do their bit to support the community through this challenging time, there are a number of opportunities through BHBC and the broader church network that might be of interest to you.
- Food donations to Box Hill Community Information and Support:
Our local emergency food bank always needs donations of non-perishable groceries to support those in need. If you can’t drop it off yourself, contact the church (office@boxhillbaptist.org.au) and we will organise a pickup for you.
2. Wednesday 29th July, 7.30pm – Prayer for people experiencing homelessness
An opportunity to hear about what’s been happening around the churches of Whitehorse – particularly given the impact of covid-19 on the winter shelter plans and a space to provide input/ask questions, followed by a time of prayer for people experiencing homelessness this winter.

Karen Dymke (https://thoughtfulworks.com.au/) from St Paul’s Lutheran church has kindly offered to deliver some training via zoom which is available to all the churches in Whitehorse – with no obligation for further engagement in any Whitehorse Churches Care activities! It will be a helpful resource and great opportunity to learn from and with each other. The training will focus on walking alongside vulnerable people, listening well and asking good questions.
Please feel free to invite others along

Thanks Pauline & Bruce – it’s lovely to hear that, and while it’s a strange new world, we’re delighted to be able to provide what we can. And it’s hats-off to Jim for the devotionals and content – Without him it’s just be stuff I could borrow/steal off the internet! 🙂
